Visual Studio Code – Disable Telemetry

Visual Studio Code is an excellent cross-platform code editor that can be easily extended through plugins.VSCode has extensions for the typical programming langauges C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go and PHP.

 

If you are new to Visual Studio Code Microsoft has provided excellent video resources to help you master the editor. For my python projects I use Spyder or VSCode.

Visual Studio Code – Disable Telemetry

The first thing I do after installing VSCode on any platform is disable Telemetry. You can quickly open the settings tab using the Shift + ,keyboard combination.

In the Settings tab search for Telemetry and then you can disable both crash reporting and usage data.
